All referrals for Hazel Oak admissions are made via the Solihull Local Authority SEN team. The EHCP and accompanying relevant reports and data are sent to us by them for consultation. If you live outside the borough your local authority SEN Team will submit your referral to the Solihull SEN Team to follow the same consultation process.
Once we receive a referral we assess the pupil against the spaces available and the needs of the current cohort.
Consultation decisions are fed back to the local authority of origin, and they will then be in touch directly to feedback the result. The school office are unable to provide information on results of consultations.
We are a heavily oversubscribed school and though we endeavour to support as many pupils as we can, we have a limit to the class sizes we can accommodate. Nationally there are increasingly more pupils with EHCP plans who cannot be accommodated in specialist provision. This is one of the key reasons we became a Teaching School, to support inclusion of all pupils in the settings they are in, by helping staff teams and families to address a wider range of need.
We do provide open evenings for potential parents to view our school, if you would like to book onto one of our open evenings, please complete the form attached and return it to the school office (email@example.com).
Please be aware that the open evening spaces are also heavily subscribed, please ensure you book early to guarantee a space.
