Universal Free School Meals

Every pupil in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are now eligible for free school meals.

Free School Meals:

To Apply: You can complete the registration form by copying the link: Free School Meals and Universal Infant Free School Meals (solihull.gov.uk). We would encourage parents of children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 to also apply because they may become eligible from Y3 onwards.

You may be eligible for Free School Meals if you receive a qualifying benefit.

This could be:

• Universal Credit - your household earned annual income must be less than £7,400 after tax and not including any benefits
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guarantee element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
