As part of the school’s Business and Enterprise Status we ensure that enterprise skills or ‘skills for life’ are embedded across the curriculum. Each term students across school are involved in mini enterprise challenges that allow them to use and apply skills they have acquired during their topic work. These experiences also contribute to the development of the students’ functional, personal and social skills.
We continually build on our strong community and business links to provide real-life learning experiences and for our older students we offer vocational accreditation and work-related learning opportunities.
At the end of their formal education at Hazel Oak, our expectation is that all students should be equipped with appropriate accreditation and life skills to enable them to access the next stage of their learning journey as independently as possible, contributing with confidence to life in the 21st Century.
